Ch. 18- Social Media and Marketing

At this point Red Bull has one of the most active Facebook page on the list 44,991,658 people that follow the page. Red Bull also has a great array of apps, including Red Bull TV, and events page, links to careers with the company, and an app that give detail of all its athletes including links to their official social media accounts.

Red Bull is certainly better at responding to users on Twitter that on Facebook, for the simple fact that their is to many people asking question and from different country. It still replies to between 10 and 40 tweets per day.

The company continued their unconventional marketing by focusing on sports -  particularly those that have a great deal of fan energy such as soccer, formula one racing, and extreme sports. By the end of 2012 the energy drink company had sold over 6 billion dollars.

When Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner took the leap out of the ballon capsule that brought him over 23 miles above the earth's surface, he broke world records for the highest jump from a platform highest manned balloon flight, fastest vertical velocity, and the longest distance free-fall. A record was also broken for the most concurrent live steam view on youtube; eight million. Red

A photo that Red Bull posted of Baumgartner’s safe landing was shared over 30,000 times within 40 minutes, and generated over 215,000 likes in the same period. Even after the event, a recent video made up of POV videos received over four million views within a week.

Each and every time Red Bull do an even their sale blow up until the next event.
